The Western Heights Preservation Society Presents Drop Redoubt 2017 Open Weekend.
Napoleonic and second world war re-enactors will be carrying out skirmishes, parades, drills and demonstrations throughout the weekend. There will also be a Napoleonic camp showing what life was like for an early nineteenth century soldier. In addition there will be various other stalls and displays. We do recommend sturdy footwear as there are many stairs and uneven surfaces throughout. Please note there will be firing and loud bangs (dogs) although ear plugs for children & adults are provided. For more information see www.doverwesternheights.org or Dover Tourist Information Centre (01304 201066).
Walk to the site following the signs from the town, use the Grand Shaft staircase (Snargate Street) or parking on the sports field on Citadel Road.
Saturday 20th May & Sunday 21st May 10.00am - 5.00pm
Adults £5 - Accompanied children free
Entrance to the Grand Shaft is free.
