Whether you plan to extend a cruise holiday by exploring this beautiful area, find secure parking while you're on the sea or an overnight stop before your onward journey, here's all the information you need.

Dover is the premier port for cruise lines in the South East of England and is one of the busiest cruise ports in Northern Europe, welcoming over 20 individual cruise lines and 200,000 cruise passengers every year. The town is well connected by road (close to the UK motorway network via the M20 or M2) and well serviced by the rail network with highspeed trains from London St Pancras taking just over an hour. 

Arriving by car 

The port and cruise terminals are well signposted as you approach the town from either direction and there are a number of short-term and long-term parking options for cruise passengers departing from Dover. The following car parks offer long term parking:

Arriving by train

The nearest station is Dover Priory where you can take a short, 5-minute taxi ride to the cruise terminals or walk through the town (approximately 30 minutes).

Before checking in for a cruise, why not spend some time exploring the area. Our friendly, experienced and knowledgeable team at the Visitor Information Centre in Dover Museum in the town centre can help with a wide range of services:

The centre is open:

  • Monday to Saturday 9.30am – 5pm (year-round)
  • Sunday 10am – 3pm (April to September only)
