Deal Memorial Bandstand is a ‘living memorial’ to eleven Royal Marines Bandsmen who were killed in an explosion at their barracks in Deal on 22 September 1989. Eleven sides of the twelve-sided bandstand have engraved tablets bearing the names of those who lost their lives.

The Deal Memorial Bandstand Trust stages a series of concerts on the Bandstand on Sunday afternoons from May to September. Every July the Band of His Majesty’s Royal Marines returns to Deal for a memorial concert and the re-dedication of the bandstand.
