Dover Greeters are a team of dedicated volunteers who are passionate about this historic port town. They love to share their knowledge with visitors and give free tours revealing the highlights and stories of Dover and signposting the dozens of interesting places to visit in this multi-layered town. They lead bespoke walking tours of the town, harbour and seafront and the White Cliffs - please book at least one full day ahead if possible. 

The group is part of the International Greeter Association (which began in New York) - locals who love where they live and give free tours - and is possibly the smallest group! Dover Greeters are easy to spot in their blue tabards and are happy to take small groups, from individuals to 10 people, and occasionally coach parties and school groups.

Greeters are not highly trained historians but they know all the exciting stories. Please contact the team to discuss what sort of tour you would like and they will match the Greeter to the group. A typical tour would be in Dover town centre, from Maison Dieu down to the seafront via the River Dour and Pencester Gardens. 

The Greeters also welcome visitors to St Edmunds Chapel, one of the smallest working churches in England, 2 or 3 times a week - look for the 'Open' sign outside.
