Smartphone photography workshops

Most of us have smartphones nowadays that have amazing photographic technology, but so few know how to get the most from the camera in their pocket! Join photographer Julie on a fun 2-hour workshop where she will show you how to use your smartphone camera to achieve stunning and creative images.

You will learn the basics such as focusing, lighting and composition, along with some great tips and tricks to really enhance your photos. You will look at more advanced tools and experiment with various modes within the camera, and finish with a 30-minute session learning how to edit images using an app on the smartphone to give a polished, professional looking image. No previous experience necessary!

Open group workshop locations

Book onto a group workshop that allows up to 10 participants at one of the locations below. The dates, times and locations are set in the calendar on the website.

• DEAL - discover the charms of Deal, a quaint seaside town on the East Kent coast. Capture images of fishing boats, lobster pots, and maybe even the fishermen. We may stroll along the pier or wander the narrow ancient streets of the conservation area. Rich subject matter and a beautiful place to enjoy this fun workshop.
• SANDWICH - embark on a captivating journey through the medieval streets of Sandwich. Explore its enchanting streets, discover ancient churches, meander through the park, and watch the boats and ducks on the river. This vibrant town offers a perfect canvas to enhance your photography skills.

Private/bespoke and business/corporate workshops

• Private family workshops – if you’re looking for something different to do as a family, book a private workshop! Choose the date, time and location anywhere within East Kent (subject to availability). Other locations available, though travel costs may be incurred.
• 1:1 – this workshop is all about you, and what you specifically want to learn. Many people book 1:1s who have bought a new phone because of its amazing camera capabilities and want to learn how to use it properly. Others book because of a special occasion or going travelling. Choose the date, time and location anywhere within East Kent (subject to availability). Other locations available though travel costs may be incurred. The price includes one complimentary additional person.
• Small businesses – a workshop for small businesses. Learn how to take better product/service and social media images to boost your online presence. Please enquire about locations before booking as travel expenses may be incurred.
• Corporate – if you are looking for a fun activity for your staff as part of an incentive or wellbeing programme, or perhaps a way they can personally upskill to take ownership of your social media images, then a smartphone photography workshop is for you!
