Talk being held on 10th April on Historic Graffiti in Medieval Buildings in Sandwich. An experienced archaeologist, Wayne Perkins will explain mason's marks (and what we usually understand by graffiti nowadays) markings carved into the walls and other stone surfaces of medieval buildings with a ritual significance and were intended to protect the building and its inhabitants from natural disasters and malignant forces.
Come along to the Jury Room at The Guildhall, Sandwich from 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Non-members are very welcome – just £2 at the door.
