The Putting Down Routes team and project partner Wild With Wheels are delighted to invite you to join them at Great Farthingloe Farm for a free sensory-focused, accessible, nature experience on the award-winning Kent Heritage Coast along Shakespeare's favourite White Cliffs of Dover.

You'll be exploring the farm paths, and the North Downs Way National Trail and taking time to admire the coastal scenery, chalk grasslands and wildflower areas. On a clear day views across the English Channel to France may be possible.

Join them and get close to nature with their experienced Support Walkers who can offer assistance if needed.

The event is set to last for 2 hours. Pace is set by the abilities of the group on the day (usually slow but with lots of interactions with nature and the landscape.

The routes at Farthingloe are decided on the day, depending on the needs of the participants. But walks will begin and end at the same location.

ALL of the walks are wheel friendly. (Buggies, Rollators, Wheelchairs, Power Chairs, Mobility scooters, Trikes etc). If there are any tricky spots then the support walkers will assist to navigate over, around any obstacles.

Suitable for all physical, learning, and mental health needs. Support and carers welcome. Equipment can be provided for those with visual or hearing impairments (please let us know in advance).

 All ages are welcome.

Served by Stagecoach bus 102 from Folkestone or Dover. (Please notify the host if you are arriving by bus to be accompanied to and from the bus stop as the pavement is currently inaccessible for wheeled users).

This location is suitable for those with mobility limitations. However, they recommend using outdoor rollator, or other walking aid with seat. Depending on the route, terrain can vary from hard surfaced, grass, uneven, slopes or smooth and flat.

Please email us at info@wildwithwheels to reserve your place if you experience any difficulty using the booking facility on Eventbrite.

This event is part of the North Downs Way National Trail and Kent Downs National Landscape’s Putting Down Routes Project.

The Putting Down Routes project seeks to encourage new audiences from under-represented communities to the North Downs Way National Trail, as well as upgrading and enhancing parts of the trail so they are more accessible to a wider range of people.

The project aims to position the North Downs Way National Trail as a safe, inclusive and accessible destination where all are welcome.

Putting Down Routes is a collaborative project between the Kent Downs National Landscape and the North Downs Way National Trail, working with partners Black Girls Hike and Wild With Wheels. Putting Downs Routes is funded through The National Lottery Heritage Fund and Defra’s Farming in Protected Landscapes.
