A magical lantern parade brought festive joy to the town's historic streets with over 1000 people turning out to watch and take part. Organised by the not-for-profit organisation Future Foundry, there were 500+ star lanterns (made with schools and local community groups), 8 5-metre tall dancing wildlife lanterns (hare, cow, frog, peregrine, fox, deer, chough and egret), 6 chandelier lanterns and a drumming band!
The lantern parade was part of Dover's Winter Light-Up, held over two days in early December, a collaboration between Future Foundry and Destination Dover, supported by Dover District Council, Dover Town Council, Port of Dover and others.
If you missed it this year, don't worry - there are plans for an even bigger event in 2023.
