Ian Fleming once lived in an Art Deco beach house called “White Cliffs” at St Margaret’s Bay and it was whilst resident in the historic seaside village near Dover that he wrote ‘Moonraker’ - one of the most well-known and best-loved Bond novels.

Many locations across Deal, Dover and Sandwich are well regarded as having provided inspiration for Fleming, whilst he was creating his stories of Britain’s most famous fictional spy from his coastal home in St Margaret’s Bay.

A self-guided itinerary through the “Bond hotspots” of White Cliffs Country is available on the White Cliffs Country website, which takes in the landmarks, heritage sites and establishments that have featured in Bond novels including ‘Moonraker’ and in the Bond movie ‘Diamonds are Forever’.
